Energy efficiency in the time of Covid-19: Recommendations for urgent action on energy efficiency
Background information
In June 2020, the Global Commission for Urgent Action on Energy Efficiency issued Ten Recommendations to rapidly accelerate efficiency. The recommendations come at a critical time. As policymakers grapple with the Covid-19 crisis, they provide a blueprint to grow jobs, improve living conditions and strengthen energy transitions as part of stimulus strategies. National governments, subnational governments and the private sector will all play a critical role in generating momentum around efficiency solutions and integrating them into their toolboxes.
This webinar aims to deepen the understanding of opportunities, challenges and solutions to deliver the benefits of energy efficiency across Latin America. It is a critical contribution to the ongoing dialogue on how to convert vision into action.
The webinar will begin with a presentation of the Ten Recommendations, followed by presentations from Argentina, the city of Bogotá, and the perspective of Grupo Energía Bogotá across the region.
This Webinar is the second of a series of webinars dedicated to exploring the opportunities to advance energy efficiency to achieve social, economic and environmental objectives in the context of Covid-19.
