IEA at COP26: Accelerating the shift to electric mobility - A new GEF supported electric mobility programme
The purpose of the event is to emphasise the role of low- and middle-income countries in global efforts to switch to zero emissions vehicles to get on track with the Paris Agreement goals. The event will also be used for the official launch of the ‘GEF Global Programme on e-mobility’, a five year programme involving more than 50 countries and with support from leading international organisations on e-mobility. The IEA is an executing agency under the Programme responsible for leading work related to providing knowledge products to support participating governments with their shifts to electro-mobility. The event will be moderated by IEA’s Deputy Executive Director Mary Warlick and involve the heads of the Global Environment Facility, UN Environment as well as representatives from governments and other organisations.
