The current global energy crisis has highlighted the urgency and scale of the task of transforming Africa's energy sector as well as the benefits of an accelerated shift to cheaper and cleaner energy sources. The International Energy Agency (IEA) organizes an event on the possible evolutions of the continent's energy systems and the achievement of African goals, including the achievement of access to energy for all by 2030 in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 7) as well as nationally determined contributions (NDCs).

The discussions will be based on the latest analysis from the African Energy Outlook 2022, a special report in the  World Energy Outlook (WEO) series. These IEA's flagship publications present authoritative analysis and projections in the energy and climate sectors, including key information on the interactions between energy and other SDGs. The report analyses infrastructure expansion needs, investment requirements, financing options and priority energy policies.

This event will be held in French.
