IEA at COP28: Launch of the IEA Energy Policy Review of Denmark 2023

Denmark’s net-zero commitments and advancements with renewables make it a leader in the energy transition. The country aims to cut GHG emissions by 70% from 1990 levels by 2030 and for renewables to cover at least half of the country’s total energy consumption by 2030. Denmark has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement. Moreover, the government has agreed to phase-out all coal-fired power by 2030.
The International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Energy and Climate Policy Review of Denmark will be presented at the COP28 by the IEA Executive Director Dr. Fatih Birol and Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Aagaard. The launch will include a presentation of the key findings of the IEA Energy Policy Review of Denmark 2023, a high-level comment by Dr. Birol and concluding remarks by Minister Aagaard.
