IEA at COP29: Doubling Energy Efficiency Progress: Moving from Ambition to Implementation

This COP29 side event will bring together key global voices to identify next steps for governments and the private sector following the agreement at COP28 to double the global average annual rate of energy efficiency improvements by 2030. The event will begin with scene-setting remarks reflecting on the doubling goal and on how this and future COPs should leverage this momentum. A high-level panel will then highlight actions being taken to move from ambition to implementation.
