On Wednesday, 11 May, the International Energy Agency will publish an update on the latest trends in renewable energy markets.
The key areas examined by the report include the latest data and analysis on renewable power capacity additions in 2021 – globally and for major markets – as well as forecasts for 2022 and 2023. The report will examine the implications of continuing supply chain challenges and increasing raw material prices for the renewables sector.
The new report will also look at how the emerging global energy crisis following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine may affect renewables’ prospects, notably in terms of policy responses by governments. The renewables update will also highlight the latest trends in biofuels demand, including forecasts for 2022 and 2023.
The new Renewable Energy Market Update will explore the market and policy developments that have taken place since the release of the IEA’s Renewables 2021 report in December. It will also discuss key uncertainties that may affect projections for 2023 and beyond.
