The "Role of Low-Carbon Fuels in the Clean Energy Transitions of the Power Sector" is designed to inform policymakers and energy sector stakeholders on the prospects of replacing coal and natural gas in power generation by low-carbon ammonia and hydrogen. The possibility to combust low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia at high shares in fossil fuel power plants provides countries with an additional tool for decarbonising the power sector, while simultaneously maintaining flexibility services of the existing fleet.
The report will be launched as a part of the first International Conference on Fuel Ammonia organised by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
