Clean Cities

Clean Cities is a government-industry partnership designed support local decisions to adopt practices that reduce petroleum consumption in the transportation sector. Clean Cities helps develop public/private partnerships to promote alternative fuels and vehicles, fuel blends, fuel economy, hybrid vehicles, and idle reduction technologies. Clean Cities provides assistance through its participation in State Energy Program grants including R&D, demonstration and deployment; co-ordination of Technical Assistance projects; maintenance of databases; Web sites; and publication of fact sheets, newsletters, and related technical materials. Clean Cities has approximately 90 volunteer coalitions (6,500 stakeholders) nationwide, which develop public/private partnerships.
