Innovation Fund

The EU’s Innovation Fund is designed to support low-carbon technologies and processes in energy intensive industries, CCUS construction and operation, renewable energy, and energy storage. Revenues from the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) feed into the Innovation Fund from the auctioning of 450 million allowances from 2020 to 2030, along with unused funds from the EU NER300 programme.
