European Partnership for Clean Aviation

Last updated: 5 October 2021

The Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for Clean Aviation is designed to minimise the aviation sector’s environmental impact, as part of the European Green Recovery priority of the European Union.

As part of this plan, the European aeronautics sector will work closely with the European Commission from 2021-2031 to reach climate neutrality by 2050. This partnership puts aviation on the way towards climate neutrality, by accelerating the development and deployment of disruptive research and innovation solutions. It aims to develop the next generation of ultra-efficient low-carbon aircraft, with novel power sources, engines, and systems, improving competitiveness and employment in the aviation sector that will be especially important for the recovery.
