National Budget 2021 - Zero-carbon city renewable energy enhancement support package

The Japanese government allocated JPY 20 billion to introduce renewable energy into cities and teach locals how to maintain the resources as a part of its zero-carbon cities by 2050 plan. 

 

Main points of the measure include: 

- Planning to maximize the introduction of renewable energy and develop local human resources;

- Promoting the introduction of independent and distributed energy equipment to evacuation facilities; 

- Promoting regional renewable energy mainstay through on-site PPA; 

- Building local independent/distributed energy systems.
