Energy Efficiency in Buildings

The law on Construction Requirements (Ley 38/1999, de Ordenacion de Edificacion) became effective in May 2000. It includes provisions for energy-efficient buildings, such as general building insulation. Its regulatory development led to the Royal Decree 314/2006 (Technical Building Code), revised and updated in 2013 and 2018, as well as the Royal Decree 47/2007 (Energy Certification Procedure), revised and updated in 2013.
