(Ontario) Directive to start smart metering installation

On July 16, 2004, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) received a directive from the Minister of Energy requiring OEB to provide a plan to implement smart meter targets. The policy of the Government is to install 800,000 smart meters by December 31, 2007 and for all Ontario customers by December 31, 2010.
