Several public authorities are making available EUR 200 million of funding for sustainability-related projects for individuals, local governments and companies. Applications will start as of March 2022.
For individuals, the projects involve the reconstruction of small houses, solar panel installation on roofs or on facades, and other projects on energy efficiency and renewable energies. Furthermore, a housing investment fund is established: it will fund long-term reconstruction loans for housing associations.
Companies, especially the Estonian energy-intensive manufacturing sector, are granted funds based upon measurements of sustainability in their business models.
Finally, local governments will have access to funding for the application of circular economy projects, as well as for the implementation of pilot projects.
