Industrial Buildings Efficiency Incentive Program
The Industrial Building Incentive Program (IBIP), established in July 2001, aims to increase the energy efficiency of newly- constructed buildings used for manufacturing and other industrial activities. IBIP will offer an incentive, primarily in the form of information programming, to companies building new industrial facilities to offset additional design costs inherent in the initial attempts at energy-efficient design. IBIP is expected to result in an annual reduction of about 0.1 megatonnes in GHG emissions by 2010.
