JOGMEC funding for exploration and technology development

Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC), which is an independent administrative agency combining the functions of the former Japan National Oil Corporation and the Metal Mining Agency of Japan, carries out or funds overseas exploration activities, technological development activities for metal exploration, extraction and recycling, and reclamation projects at closed mines. 
JOGMEC's operating budget for Fiscal Year 2022 was 3.8 billion yen or about 26 million USD.  These funds support different projects, including overseas geological surveys, technological development related to production technology for ore beneficiation and smelting and the mining pollution prevention support project.
