Electricity bill reductions for protected users

The Latvian government extended the period for electricity price support for vulnerable groups and low-income households to the end of April 2023. The support implies an automatic reduction of the electricity bill for selected groups of protected users by electricity retailers with over 10 000 clients. The updated amount of reduction in electricity payments ranges from EUR 15 for low-income households, families with a child or for persons with a disability, to EUR 20 for large families (without VAT).

The measure was first launched in September 2021.
