Subsidy scheme to develop cogeneration from municipal biogas

The Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment, the Consultative Council of the Modernization Fund and the European Investment Bank approved a subsidy programme with a total allocation of PLN 1.5 billion to co-finance the development of cogeneration with municipal biogas in the form of grant or loans covering 50% or 100% of eligible costs respectively.  
The programme supports the construction of new, extension or modernization of existing installations for the fermentation of municipal organic waste and the use of the obtained biogas to generate energy through high-efficiency cogeneration. The programme receives applications from companies from February to June 2024 and covers eligible costs for the period from September 2022 to December 2030.
