Modern Slavery Act
The Modern Slavery Act was established in 2018 to require certain sectors to report and address the risks of modern slavery in their operations and supply chains. Entities covered by the Act are those based or operating in Australia that have an annual consolidated revenue of more than $100 million. Modern slavery statements will be prepared annually and submitted to the Minister; the Minister is responsible for preparing a statement on behalf of all non-corporate Commonwealth entities. These statements will include actions being taken to address the risks described. The statements are maintained on a register that is available to the public on the internet.
