ENERGY STAR Commercial Buildings

Last updated: 5 November 2017
Energy Star Commercial Buildings is a voluntary U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) program that delivers environmental benefits and financial value through superior energy efficiency. By certifying top-performing commercial products and buildings, ENERGY STAR helps inform energy-efficient decisions. Facility owners and managers use Energy Star to: Adopt an energy management strategy; Identify ways to save energy, cut costs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions; Earn recognition; and Communicate their energy-saving efforts to the public. The program provides an opportunity for companies to have their energy programs compared with world class companies in a non-competitive environment and to engage in a large network of experienced, corporate energy managers. The program also assists in building energy awareness and a strong energy culture, align energy programs with ENERGY STAR, and boost support for energy management among employees and senior management.
