NOM-003-ENER-1995: Thermal efficiency of water heaters for domestic and commercial use
This standard applies to water heaters for domestic and commercial use using L.P. gas or natural gas that produces only hot water. Likewise, it applies only to the following types of heaters: (1) storage (automatic or semi-automatic); (2) rapid recovery; and (3) instantaneous (Type 1 = 9.8 kPa and Type 2 = 10.9 kPa). Thermal loads from 6 to 80 kW.
The standard establishes the thermal efficiency that the heaters must achieve based on the lower calorific power as well as the temperature of the water at the outlet. See the attachment for the minimum thermal efficiency levels.
