Global Environment Facility grants and concessional funds

Last updated: 5 November 2017
The Czech Republic has received Global Environment Facility (GEF) grants, available to developing countries and those with economies in transition for projects and activities that address some aspects of the global environment. In August 1998, the World Bank approved a Global Environment Facility grant of $5.8 million for the Kyjov Waste Heat Utilisation Project to improve the efficiency of the Czech Republics energy sector. The project will reduce emissions of greenhouse gases from the district heating system by increasing the energy efficiency and reliability of heat and power supply to the Vetropak Moravia Glass factory and heat supply to the city of Kyjov.
