High-Performance Green Building Partnership Consortia

Last updated: 24 August 2021
Sections 421, 422, and 423 of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 address the development of commercial high-performance green buildings. The High-Performance Green Building Partnership Consortia was developed in response to these provisions. Partnership participants reflect all disciplines necessary to implement high-performance commercial buildings. The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), along with nine other leading organizations, has formed a consortium in response to the US Department of Energy request for consortia to advise the department on high-performance building issues. The Consortia encourges the development of more energy efficient "green" commercial buildings. Activities include establishing a national clearinghouse for information and public outreach about high performance green buildings.
