About this report
The IEA teamed up with experts from ten countries in the Arab-Southern and Eastern Mediterranean (SEMED) region to develop energy efficiency policy priorities tailored to regional barriers and opportunities. These 20 detailed recommendations span six sectors and cover policies from promoting energy efficiency for small and medium enterprises to measures to design and implement minimum energy performance standards for buildings and appliances. IEA partners include experts from ten economies across the region (from Tunisia to Iraq, Sudan to Jordan), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) and the League of Arab States. The IEA also worked with regional partners to develop regional energy efficiency policy recommendations for Southeast Asia and for Latin America and the Caribbean.
