pkm = passenger kilometres, a metric of transport activity: when a single passenger travels a single kilometre, the result is 1 pkm of travel. gCO2-eq = grammes of CO2-equivalent, on a well-to-wheel basis. The boxes in this figure indicate the range of average energy intensity in various countries, while points indicate global averages. The WTW GHG intensity of passenger aviation excludes non-CO2 climate-forcing impacts.
