Multi-billion pound investment for new long-term plan to tackle flooding

GBP 5.2 billion will be invested in a 6-year programme for flood and coastal defences, including new innovative approaches to work with the power of nature to not only reduce flood risk but also deliver benefits for the environment.

 

The measures are to create around 2,000 new flood and coastal defences to better protect 336,000 properties in England by 2027, and provide support to help households and businesses get back on their feet more quickly after flooding.
