Ireland Electricity Vehicle Grant Scheme & Vehicle Registration Tax relief

SEAI is offering grants of up to €5,000 for a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) purchased and registered before the end of December 2015. In addition to the grant, a BEV will qualify for Vehicle Registration Tax relief of up to €5,000 whereas a PHEV qualifies for up to €2,500 VRT relief. This provides a maximum combined subsidy (grant + VRT relief) of €10,000 in the case of a BEV and €7,500 for a PHEV.
