National Programme for Energy Efficient Use of Petroleum and Natural Gas Derivatives - CONPET
As general programme for improving energy efficiency of petroleum and natural gas derivatives, CONPET included several projects, like the Vehicular Natural Gas initiative and a labelling programme.
CONPET was conceived to promote the efficient use of fossil fuels in transportation, in households, in commerce, in industry and in the agricultural and livestock industries.
Reliant on Petrobras, the programme established technical cooperation, associations and partnerships with governmental agencies, NGOs, representatives of entities related to the subject and also organised and promoted projects.
The CONPET Energy Efficiency Seal (or simply CONPET Seal), in force since August 2005, is intended for equipment consuming petroleum products and natural gas that obtain the lowest fuel consumption rates.
