KfW Environmental Programme, ERP predecessor programmes

Besides measures not directly relevant to energy efficiency such as noise protection, fresh water savings and wastewater reduction, soil and groundwater protection, efficient energy production, renewable energies, and reclamation of hazardous sites and landfills, measures for increasing energy efficiency are also being funded: construction of new buildings with a low energy requirement, building and energy technology, heat recovery/utilisation of waste heat, and procurement of low-emission commercial vehicles. Funding takes the form of low-interest loans.
