The total budget of the programme is approximately 3445 M €; 505 M€ for RES applications, 340 M€ for Rational Use of Energy and 343M€ for CHP mainly with natural gas. Compared to the first Operational Programme for Energy (OPE 1994-1999), the NOPE programme gives more support to geothermal, PV and passive solar systems. However, its objective is to stimulate the investment in RES technologies in the line of the OPE. Public subsidies on the total cost for investment amount to 30% for wind parks, 40% for small hydro, biomass, geothermal and passive solar and 50% for PV. This programme supports tax exemptions, loans and third-party ficing for renewable energy and energy efficiency in the building sector.
